Queen Rosemary Johnson, who is the current Miss Travel World Nigeria 2024 and also preparing for an international pageant, shares about her preparation in this exclusive interview with Fourwall Magazine. From aspiring to achieving her dream to breaking barriers on the global stage, Rosemary’s story is one of determination and empowerment. How did your journey in pageantry begin?
My journey in pageantry began in my university days. I followed a few beauty queens and was greatly inspired by their philanthropic works plus I loved they way they carried themselves and were respected.
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Rosemary Johnson, asides being a beauty queen and an entrepreneur. Some of these businesses are the rcj food spot, the rcj beauty hub and the rcj mini mart. I also founded the Rosemary Johnson Foundation which is geared towards helping the downtrodden and the girl-child.
What would you say stood you out from others?
I would say my goals were defined early enough and I was dedicated to see it through. I always strive to stay focused and put my all in anything I set my heart to do. So every contest was as important as the other.
What were the challenges you faced during the pageant and how you overcame them?
I was body-shamed. I was told that I wasn’t built to fit the fashion model size or fit by their beauty standards. But I knew I was a queen not because they said I was but because I believed I was and I had the heart required to do exploits and that was what mattered.

How was the bonding with other contestants?
Bonding with the contestants was so easy because these girls are so accommodating and I can bodly say I have pageant sisters now.
How has winning this pageant impacted in your life?
Thank you to the miss Steph pageant brand because their push has led to my personal development and I can bodly say i am better than I was before the contest.

The Miss Travel World pageant is an international pageant with the aim to support the government to promote tourism and strenghten international relations and it’s powered by skyfree international. I am excited to be representing Nigeria in Tanzania come August 2024 at this prestigious contest.
How does it feel to represent your country?
All I feel is excitement. It is an honor to represent Nigeria and promote our culture and tourism. It is a dream come true and I hope to make the most of it.
What should your fans be expect as they root for you to bring home the crown?
As the countdown begins, I am motivated knowing that I have such wonderful people in my corner. I will give my all, I will put my heart and I will do my best to bring the crown home, and with them behind me i am hopeful the crown is coming home.
Is there something different you will do to help your quest of bringing home the crown?
Well everything I need to do is what I am doing and going to do and as someone who welcome criticism and suggestions,I am open to that.
Has been a beauty queen clashed with your personality?
Of course not,I am myself 100 percent ,my personality matches my crown perfectly.
What project have embarked on since you were crowned?
In collaboration with the miss Steph pageant,I have carried out “the feed a child initiative”, “economic empowerment and skill acquisition project” just to mention a few.
In pageantry, do you have any mentor, if yes, why?
Agbani Darego because her journey was different,she represented Nigeria in a very unique way and set a standard that till date stands out. This encourages me to keep being my authentic self without apologies.
What does the sash and crown symbolie to you?
The sash and crown to me is an empowerment tool for beauty with purpose and a megaphone to enhance your voice in speaking up on causes that needs to be spoken for.
What is your vision for the society and what impact would you love to make?
Leaving the world better than I met it, a place where people will have empathy towards others. I will always speak up for the voiceless and reach out to those who need my help always anyway I can, no matter how little.
How do you relax as you are quite busy with preparation for the international pageant?
My beauty sleep always helps me refresh after the day’s hassles, that’s the only way I relax for now since every day counts.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
The last 5 years has been a challenging one I am proud to say there has been drastic growth. I intend for the next 5 years to be 5 times better than the last.
What message do you have for young ladies aspiring to become a beauty queen?
Be sure this is what you have passion for because passion will help you to keep going where strength fails and remind you that it goes beyond wearing the beautiful crown and sash. More importantly, have a plan on how you want to be remembered after your reign.
