In this interview with Queen Ariella, she shared her journey in modeling, challenges and future plans.
Congratulations on emerging No Makeup Queen Tourism Africa. How does this achievement make you feel?
To be honest, fulfilled, proud of myself with alot of butterflies in my stomach. This whole success is all thanks to Almighty God.
How did your journey in modeling started?
It started in the year 2013 during my ND program, where I contested for Miss Environmental Health and won.
What challenges did you faced and how did you overcome them?
Financial challenges and I am overcoming this by being a financially stable woman and getting the necessary sponsors and connection.
What has been the most rewarding experience of your journey in pageantry so far?
Building my self confidence. Meeting new people, making meaningful connections and having more access to help the society.
Why did you choose No Makeup Queen Africa?
Because it has a big vision for humanity and I love challenging myself with tasks that seems impossible, especially if it benefits humanity at large.
As a crowned queen, how do you intend to use your new office to make positive impact in the society?
The society will benefit from my pet projects, which focuses on both male and female, old and young. Will review more plans on it soon. They will also benefit from my community service to the society.
What’s the plan for 2025?
Financial stability, make more benefitting connections and run at least 3 projects this year.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of pageantry?
Volleyball, Cooking & Dancing.
Who are your role models and why?
My Universe (Mom). She is a strong and true African woman. She doesn’t let bad situations break her and she is our prayer backbone.
What message do you have young women about confidence and self-worth?
Learn & Understand yourself. Accept yourself for who you are and do not listen nor care about what people say about you. Ones you do this, you will love the woman you will become.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
The power to eradicate poverty, depression & sickle cell anemia. Because it causes pain and misery and has taken alot of people from this world.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your journey as a model?
Consistency matters alot. You don’t know it all, so I have to keep learning.
Describe your personal style in three words.
Elegant, fun & daring.
What is your favorite thing about being a beauty queen?
Having access to places, people and resources.
What advice would you give to young women who aspire to follow in your footsteps?
Don’t give up. It’s not an easy journey. They are times when you will fail, make sure you get up and start all over again. Cry if you must, but make sure you don’t give up. And always believe in yourself and pray too.
