Michael Odavweme Oyibode crowned as Misters of Nigeria Delta 2026, a 24-year-old Nigerian fashion model, fashion designer, and graduate of Economics. Standing at 5.9 ft, Michael embodies style, intelligence, and resilience, qualities that have distinguished him in both academic and creative pursuits. A visionary young talent, Michael has consistently demonstrated a passion for fashion and modeling, coupled with a strong academic foundation. His dedication, smartness, and hardworking nature have earned him recognition as a rising star in the Nigerian fashion and modeling industry.
In this exclusive interview with Michael Oyibode, he shared about his journey in the pageant industry and insights into his preparation for Misters of Nigeria 2026.
Congratulations on emerging as Mister Delta 2026. How does this make you feel?
Thank you so much. Being crowned Mister Delta 2026 is an incredible honor. I feel humbled, grateful, and deeply inspired. This title represents not just my personal effort but the unwavering support of everyone who believed in me throughout this journey.
How did your journey in pageantry begin?
My journey began with a simple desire to challenge myself. I had always admired the discipline, confidence, and sense of purpose that pageantry instills. Eventually, I took a leap of faith and entered my first competition—my school pageant, Master and Miss COEWA. That experience opened my eyes to how powerful the platform is. It gave me a voice, a path to growth, and the courage to pursue bigger stages.
What motivated you to compete for Misters of Delta?
I wanted to represent my state with pride and use the platform to advocate for causes that matter to me. I’m passionate about inspiring young people to believe in themselves, embrace their creativity, and build a brighter future. Misters of Delta appealed to me because it values not only physical presence but also intelligence, character, and social impact.
What does being crowned winner mean to you personally?
It means responsibility. It means living up to the trust placed in me. For me, the crown is a symbol of service—an opportunity to inspire young people, lead with purpose, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Now that you have been crowned, what is next for you?
The next phase is preparation—mentally, physically, and socially—for the national competition. I will also begin implementing my community initiatives, focusing on youth empowerment, creativity, and education.
In pageantry, do you have a mentor? If yes, who and why?
Yes. I draw mentorship collectively from my team at Misters of Delta. Additionally, Samuel Nwajagu, the immediate past Mister International, stands as a major inspiration. His hard work, resilience, and dedication are admirable. His journey motivates me, and his character reflects what every aspiring model should strive to emulate.
You will be representing Delta State at Misters of Nigeria 2026. How do you feel about that?
It is a privilege I do not take lightly. Representing Delta State on a national stage fills me with immense pride. I am ready to give my best and showcase the values, culture, and strength of my people.
How are you preparing for the upcoming Misters of Nigeria 2026 competition?
My preparation includes fitness training, grooming, public speaking practice, charity involvement, and personal development. I am working closely with my team to refine every aspect of my performance because the national stage demands excellence.
What should fans expect from you?
They should expect authenticity, passion, and absolute dedication. I aim to represent Delta State with dignity and embody the true spirit of a modern gentleman—confident, compassionate, and driven.
What is your vision for society, and what impact would you like to make?
As an educator and fashion designer, I plan to use my creativity, skills, and knowledge to inspire young people. I want to help create access to opportunities that allow them to realize their potential and believe in their ideas. My vision is to promote hope, encourage education, and contribute positively to community development.
If you were not a model, what other career would you have pursued?
I would still have pursued fashion design, which is already a core part of who I am. It’s a career that allows me to connect with people, express creativity, and bring ideas to life. Fashion is both my passion and my purpose.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
In five years, I see myself as a recognized model, a professional fashion designer, and a strong youth advocate. I hope to build a platform that empowers others and engage in projects that transform lives across communities.
