Queen Onwuadi Sunshine Chiamaka, our esteemed Model of the Month, is a shining star in the modeling world who hail from Idemili north LGA of Anambara State and a graduated from Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, Imo state, where she earned a degree in Microbiology. She is a professional model and also proudly holds the title of Miss World Nigeria 1st Runner-Up. With her striking beauty and undeniable talent, Queen Sunshine has captivated audiences both locally and internationally.
Her journey in the modeling industry began at a young age, and she has since done great for herself, showcasing her versatility and passion for the art of modeling. Queen is not only known for her stunning looks but also for her dedication to empowering young women and advocating for education. As a role model, she inspires countless individuals to pursue their dreams with determination and grace. In her spare time, Queen enjoys volunteering with local charities, where she focuses on initiatives that support women and children in need. In this interview with Queen Sunshine as our spotlight cover girl, she shared insights into the challenges and triumphs she has faced along the way. She spoke passionately about the discipline and commitment required to succeed in the competitive world of pageantry and modeling, emphasizing the importance of staying true to oneself and maintaining a positive mindset.
How did you feel about emerging the 1st runner up Miss Nigeria World?
I was excited and honored to be the 1st runner up MNQW 2025. It’s a great opportunity to achieve what I am passionate about, which is protecting the girl child, physically, mentally and emotionally.
What challenges did you face during the contest and how did you overcome them?
You know the saying “nothing good comes easy,” so like every good thing, I faced a lot of challenges, but the major ones were intense competition and getting sponsors. I overcame them by believing in myself and seeking advice from my mentors.
What stood you out from other contestants?
Well, I would say my boldness, confidence, integrity, and intelligence.
What has been the most rewarding experience of your journey in pageantry so far?
Pageantry has given me the most rewarding experience; it has given me the platform to advocate for girls’ education and to raise awareness about the importance of education for the girl child. Seeing how my efforts inspire young girls to pursue their dreams and break barriers makes all the hard work worthwhile. Pageantry has given me a voice to support a cause I deeply believe in, and that has been the most meaningful part of my journey.
As Miss World Nigeria runner-up, how has this crown impacted your life?
As Miss Nigeria World runner-up, I’ve been able to discover a different side of myself that has been hidden. I have learned determination, resilience, and most importantly, a love for giving back to my community.
Tell us more about the Miss World Nigeria pageant and why you chose to contest on the platform?
Miss Nigeria World is an organization that provides a platform for young girls to explore the better part of themselves as queens and role models. I chose to contest because it is a platform for me to give back to society and to be a better version of myself.
How have you been using your office to make an impact in your community?
So far, I’ve been able to do 4 projects and also sponsor the school fees of 4 students that I have promised to help. I am also currently working on a project before my reign is over.
How would you rate your reign as the 1st Runner-up of Miss World Nigeria?
I would say I’ve done really well as the 1st Runner-up Miss Nigeria World.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of pageantry?
Outside of pageantry, I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, and I am very passionate about dancing and fashion.
Who are your role models and why?
My role models are Queen Amaka (the current national director of Miss Nigeria World). She’s a strong, determined, and kind-hearted woman, and I admire her a lot. Secondly, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Since childhood, I have always admired her courage, passion, and resilience in making a difference in society.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your journey as a model?
As a model, I’ve learned to be determined and strong-willed… Ready to build myself as a brand and not just as a person.

What is your favorite thing about being a beauty queen?
My favorite thing about being a beauty queen is the respect that comes with it.
What advice would you give to young women who aspire to follow in your footsteps?
My advice to young girls out there is to not let anything discourage you or make you give up on your dreams. You’re unique, and you’re a queen no matter what, so always believe in yourself. Also, know that there is no success story that doesn’t have a negative beginning.
