Stella Olamide Abiodun, a proud Nigerian from Ondo State, was born and raised in Kaduna. She is a graduate of biochemistry, a model, an ex-beauty queen, a writer, a digital creator, a brand strategist, and the founder of Every African Child, an NGO dedicated to empowering women and children through education, healthcare, and skills acquisition. With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for aesthetics, Stella has carved out a niche for herself in the digital world. Her journey began when she won the Miss Ondo pageant, a pivotal moment that opened many doors and allowed her to use her platform for advocacy and change.
Stella’s work with Every African Child has been particularly impactful, focusing on providing resources and opportunities to underserved communities. Her efforts have touched countless lives, offering hope and a brighter future to many. Through workshops, mentorship programs, and partnerships with local and international organizations, Stella is committed to making a lasting difference.
In addition to her philanthropic endeavors, Stella is a sought-after speaker and influencer, using her voice to inspire and motivate others. Her unique blend of creativity, intelligence, and compassion sets her apart as a leader and role model in her community.
In this interview with Stella, she discussed her journey as a model and shared insights into her preparations for an upcoming pageant.
How did you get your start in modeling?
I began my modeling journey while in school, participating in pageants and fashion shows, driven by my love for self-expression and storytelling through fashion, beauty, and culture. What started as casual photoshoots gradually evolved into a powerful platform that allows me to inspire, advocate, and connect with people across the world.
What’s your biggest achievement in modeling so far?
Representing my state and winning pageantry titles that allowed me to use my platform for meaningful advocacy has been a highlight. Every stage I step on is another opportunity to inspire others.
What’s the most challenging part of being a model?
For me, the real challenge goes far beyond the runway, it’s finding the balance between my corporate career, my role as a digital creator in a different niche, running my business, and championing my advocacy. It’s a delicate fusion of glamour and responsibility, where I must stay true to myself while relentlessly driving meaningful and lasting societal change.
I’ve learned to separate noise from value, taking feedback that helps me grow and discarding what doesn’t serve me. I keep my eyes on my vision, knowing that not everyone will see the bigger picture, but my mission outweighs their opinions.
What are your goals for the future of your career?
I aim to not only excel in modeling but also to become a strong political force, encouraging youth participation in leadership and policy-making. I want to use my platform to drive conversations, influence change, and create opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
Are there specific brands or designers you dream of working with?
Absolutely! I would love to work with African luxury brands that tell cultural stories through fashion, as well as global fashion houses like Dior, Valentino, and Chanel, whose artistry and elegance resonate with my style and vision.
How do you stay motivated and inspired in such a competitive industry?
I stay motivated by remembering my why. I’m not here just for the glamour I’m here to inspire, to create impact, and to leave a legacy. The stories of resilient women and the joy of using my platform for positive change keep me going, even on tough days.
We learnt you are contesting in BAIP 2025. What motivated you?
BAIP aligns perfectly with my passion for using beauty as a tool for advocacy. It’s a platform that not only celebrates women but also amplifies their causes. For me, it was the perfect stage to merge my love for pageantry with my mission to empower women and improve communities.
How are you preparing and what should people expect from you?
I’ve been working on every aspect from public speaking and stage presence to fitness, cultural awareness, and advocacy strategy. People should expect authenticity, elegance, and a strong message that goes beyond beauty.
If you’re crowned winner, how do you intend to use the office to make impact in the society?
I will focus on three pillars: empowering the girl child through education and skills acquisition, improving access to maternal healthcare in underserved communities, and encouraging political interest among youths especially young women through opportunities like agropreneurship. This way, we’re building economic independence and leadership capacity hand in hand.
Who are your role models or biggest influences?
I look up to women like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie for her voice in literature and advocacy, and Queen Rania of Jordan for her elegance and commitment to humanitarian work and many more. They remind me that grace and influence can coexist powerfully.
How do you handle criticism or negativity, both online and in person?

What are some of your hobbies or passions outside of modeling?
I love public speaking, sharing opinions on pressing societal issues, creating digital content, and simply making people smile. I’m also passionate about exploring cultures and reading inspiring literature.
What makes you feel most confident and empowered?
Being prepared. Whether it’s stepping on stage, entering a meeting, or addressing a crowd, preparation fuels my confidence. That, and knowing my work is making a difference.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The power to heal, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. The world would be so much better if more hearts and minds were whole.
What advice would you give to aspiring models?
Build more than just a portfolio, build purpose. The industry is competitive, but when you know your “why” and pair it with consistency, humility, and hard work, the opportunities will find you.
